Caraway kernels are the fruits of the herbaceous plant Carum carvi, from the Apiaceae family. Each kernel is the half of the fruit, with 0.5 cm in length, and a brown leather color, curved, and with five protrusions or ridges along the whole length. It´s also called German cumin or meadow cumin.
