CLOVES

Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum, formerly called Eugenia caryophyllus) have a characteristic aroma. The clove is formed by the unopened buds of an evergreen tree which belongs to the myrtle family. This tree is native to the Moluccas Islands, also called the Spice Islands (nowadays this region is Eastern Indonesia).

Origin Madagascar.
