SAVORY

Savory belongs to the species Saturaja hortensis within the Lamiaceae family. It is an annual plant which flowers are purple, normally the leaves are the part of the plant commercialized because of their characteristic flavor for culinary uses. It is also called summer savory or garden savory, as opposing to winter savory or mountain savory, the species Saturaja montana. This is an evergreen plant with white flowers, the leaves are as well the part commercialized for culinary uses as they pose an aromatic flavor.
